general rights (Aust)



1. A person has the right to own property

	This means that a house, car etc. may be registered or indicated as belonging to you. 
	If you're married a house may be in the name of yourself, your husband or wife, or both of you.


2. A person has the right to say no if you don't want to have sex with someone. There are no exceptions to this.


3. A person has the right to have a bank account in your name, to keep money (cash).


4. A person has the right to purchase items in shops



5. If married, you may get divorced from your husband or wife if you have been living in separate houses 

for at least 12 months. Either person may apply for the divorce, it is not necessary for the 

other person to agree. A court will divide or approve the division of property between the two 

of you. You would then be in the same position as a single person who had never been married.
 




It's against the law in Austrlia to:

	Kill someone

	Commit r... (contact with a person's private parts without their consent.)

	Commit assault (attack or physically damage someone)

	Commit theft

	Commit fraud (deception in business transactions etc.)
